Detailed Walkthrough

Bastien Graff, a Vanguard captain stationed at the Den, is convinced he's destined for greatness. He's certain he's the best pilot in the Vanguard, and is expecting a promotion and new assignment any day now. Unfortunately, he's received no reply to the last several applications he submitted to headquarters, so he asks you to go ask Commander Tuala in person. Meet Tuala in the lobby of the MAST Tower.

Tuala has been trying to ignore Graff, but now that he's escalated to sending people to ask in person, he decides something needs to be done about the situation. He writes up a "special commendation" to keep Graff happy, and asks you to deliver it. When you do, you have the option of pretending the commendation is legitimate, in which case Graff is satisfied that he's being recognized, or of admitting that it's just to shut him up, in which case he appreciates your honesty.

90		(Player told Bastien the commendation was a bad thing) I told Bastien Graff that his "commendation" from MAST was nothing more than an attempt to appease him. He's committed to getting what he wants, and thanked me for being honest with him.
100		(Done talking to Bastien, didn't tell him the truth) I've delievered MAST's "commendation" to Bastien Graff at the Den. He seemed grateful for the assistance.

Notes

• Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the Radiant Mission system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
• Not all entries may appear in your log; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the mission is done.
• Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with missions that have multiple possible outcomes or missions where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
• If an entry is marked as "Finishes Mission" it means the mission disappears from the Active Mission list, but you may still receive new entries for that mission.
• On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the mission by entering setstage FFDenZ01 stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) mission stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the mission using resetquest FFDenZ01.
