Quick WalkthroughEdit
- Agree to meet Wyatt Earp in private.
- Kill or talk down H. H. Holmes.
Detailed WalkthroughEdit
After talking to Amanirenas, Genghis Khan, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Wyatt Earp will approach you, claiming that Roosevelt is hiding something from you, and asking to meet you in secret before you head to the Facility. He directs you to a cave just outside of Crucible.
Upon meeting you in the cave, Earp reveals his secret - he's not a clone of Wyatt Earp at all, but rather a clone of Henry Howard Holmes, the notorious 19th century American serial killer. Terrified of what the other residents of Crucible might do to him if they found out, he claimed to be a clone of Wyatt Earp as a cover. He then says that he couldn't risk you discovering his secret at the Facility, and that he plans to kill you to conceal his true identity.
Despite his namesake, Holmes is clearly no killer, and is obviously terrified of the idea of fighting you. It is possible to talk him down by passing a speech challenge and promising to keep his secret. Otherwise, you will have to kill him.

- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Mission system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all entries may appear in your log; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the mission is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with missions that have multiple possible outcomes or missions where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Mission" it means the mission disappears from the Active Mission list, but you may still receive new entries for that mission.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the mission by entering
setstage Crucible01 stage
, wherestage
is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) mission stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the mission usingresetquest Crucible01
