Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
The Red Mile is a dangerous wilderness survival challenge and blood sport, held at the Red Mile cantina on Porrima III and overseen by Mei Devine. To enter, talk to Devine and tell her you're interested in running the Red Mile. Devine will hold a brief ceremony announcing your run, then allow you to begin the challenge.
To complete the Red Mile, you must descend from the cantina into a large valley, activate a beacon on the far side of the valley, and then return to the cantina alive. You will find several workstations in the entrance area, which can be used for last minute preparations before attempting the run.
The valley contains a large population of Red Mile Maulers, highly aggressive predators which will constantly hunt and attack you as you make your run. Red Mile Maulers are extremely resilient and possess a projectile attack that allows them to attack you even if you are out of melee reach. You will either need to bring a considerable amount of ammunition, or to avoid combat entirely by outrunning them.
The beacon is located on a rocky hill at the far side of the valley. Once you activate it, you must successful return to the Red Mile cantina. Upon doing so, you may speak to Devine to receive your reward. Upon completing this quest for the first time you will receive Brute Force.
You may repeat this quest any number of times.

- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Mission system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all entries may appear in your log; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the mission is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with missions that have multiple possible outcomes or missions where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Mission" it means the mission disappears from the Active Mission list, but you may still receive new entries for that mission.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the mission by entering
setstage FFRedMileR01 stage
, wherestage
is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) mission stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the mission usingresetquest FFRedMileR01
.
