Mission Pointer[edit]

The activity Talk to Sergeant Yumi points to this mission. You can acquire it when you have finished A Break at Dawn, you have not begun Search and Seizure and you overhear UC Security mentioning that Sergeant Yumi is looking for you.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Talk to Agent Plato.
  2. Read Potential Smuggler Ships, in your inventory.
  3. Talk to the Technicians at the Spaceport.
  4. Talk to Sergeant Yumi.
    1. If any ship other than the Anansi is reported, then the quest ends here and a small reward is given.
  5. Board the Anansi and take the Crate of Contraband from its hold.
    1. If you take (Malawi Ndiaye's) bribe, return to Yumi to complete the quest with a full reward.
  6. Kill all crew of the Anansi and return to Yumi.
  7. Return or keep the crate of contraband.

Walkthrough[edit]

Collect Info[edit]

Talk to Agent Plato, located in the AEGIS offices in MAST. He will give you a slate from a "Classified Starstation", containing information about smugglers. Reading the slate gives you a list of four potential smuggler ships. Travel to New Atlantis Spaceport and ask two Technicians about any suspicious ships. One will report that he saw a ship allegedly carrying potatoes, however the crew was being extremely careful with the cargo leading him to believe the manifests were incorrect. He can not remember the name of the ship, however it can be determined by looking at the list of potential smuggler ships (the Anansi UC-576B is the only ship with potatoes on its manifest).

Report to Sergeant Yumi your findings. If you report any ship other than the Anansi, he says the warrant will take some time and the quest ends here (with a small reward). If you report the Anansi, he says the Anansi has recently landed will be detained, your job is to enter the ship and search for any illegal goods.

Search the Ship[edit]

Travel to the Anansi and search the ship's hold via an interface in the cockpit. The contraband is well labeled as Crate of Contraband. Once picked up, the captain (Malawi Ndiaye) will talk to you and attempt to bribe you to turn around and walk away. If the bribe is accepted, the contraband is removed from your inventory and you are left to return to Yumi to complete the quest for the full reward plus the bribe (2500).

[Intimidation] or [Wanted] will force the captain to surrender the contraband without attacking.

Otherwise, Ndiaye and her crew will attack. Once dispatched, return to Yumi. You can either give him the crate, or tell him nothing was found, which gives the full reward as the bribe but allows you to keep the crate of contraband.

Notes[edit]

  • The Jade Swan appears in the list of potential smuggler ships. As revealed in The Best There Is, it is a smuggler ship, however you do not get credit if you pick it as the smuggler ship.
  • The "Classified Starstation" the list of potential smuggler ships is SY-920, as the list is found on a terminal in that station.

Notes
  • Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the Radiant Mission system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all entries may appear in your log; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the mission is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with missions that have multiple possible outcomes or missions where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Mission" it means the mission disappears from the Active Mission list, but you may still receive new entries for that mission.
  • On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the mission by entering setstage FFNewAtlantis05 stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) mission stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the mission using resetquest FFNewAtlantis05.
