Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
UC Security Office[edit]
Go to the UC Security office near the spaceport, and ask to Yumi for more work. He will tell you that there was a scuffle between two people at Dawn's Roost and afterwards one of them showed up in the UC Security office to accuse the other one of stealing a valuable ring. Unfortunately, he was still drunk and left without identifying the other person. Yumi asks you to talk to Royce Elgin at the Dawn's Roost.
Dawn's Roost[edit]
Go the Dawn's Roost and speak to Royce Elgin behind the bar. He will tell you that the fighting parties were Hugo and Octavio, and that they were a couple who used to dine at the Dawn's Roost for quite some time. He does not know about a stolen ring, but he tells you that Octavio is the one accusing Hugo of stealing his ring and that Hugo lives in Athena Tower in the residential district.
Athena Tower[edit]
You can find Hugo in the lobby of Athena Tower where he is furiously talking to himself, calling Ocatavio a liar and manipulator. He is surprised to learn that he is accused of theft, and tells you about his and Octavio's relationship. Hugo reveals that the ring in question is an engagement ring he got from Octavio. Before the dinner that lead to the argument Hugo found a napkin from the Dawn's Roost with a waiter's number written on the back, hence the argument.
Hugo considers the ring in question to be his property, as it was gifted to him. You can persuade him to give you the ring, pickpocket it from him, kill him and take the ring, or agree with his position and let him keep it. You can also just steal the ring from Hugo without talking to him.
UC Security Office[edit]
Return to Sergeant Yumi and report the result of your investigation. If you retrieved the ring from Hugo you can either give it to Yumi so it gets returned to Octavio, or you can lie to Yumi and keep the ring for yourself.

- The following empty mission stages were omitted from the table: 9.
- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Mission system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all entries may appear in your log; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the mission is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with missions that have multiple possible outcomes or missions where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Mission" it means the mission disappears from the Active Mission list, but you may still receive new entries for that mission.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the mission by entering
setstage FFNewAtlantis04 stage
, wherestage
is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) mission stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the mission usingresetquest FFNewAtlantis04
.
