The Freestar Rangers are the Freestar Collective's federal law enforcement agency. The player can join this faction by speaking to Marshal Daniel Blake in Akila City.

The Rangers are almost as old as the Freestar Collective itself, having been founded in 2221. They are headquartered in The Rock in Akila City, but also have stations in Neon, HopeTown, and the Clinic. There are rarely more than a dozen Rangers at any time - individual rangers are expected to be able to handle difficult missions largely on their own.

Organization[edit]

New recruits to the Rangers are enlisted at the rank of Deputy. After proving themselves, they are promoted to full Rangers. The upper ranks consist of a handful of Senior Rangers and the Marshall, who is in overall command. The Rangers as a whole answer to the Freestar Collective's Council of Governors.

Equipment[edit]

The Rangers rely mainly on Laredo and Stroud-Eklund for their equipment. New recruits are issued a Deadeye, a Ranger Deputy Uniform, and a Deputy Hat. Full Rangers are also issued a custom Justifier, Ranger Duelwear, a Ranger Spacesuit, and a Star Eagle-class patrol ship. Some Rangers also wear Freestar Dustwear.
