Akila City was founded in 2167 by Solomon Coe. Its diverse people are united in their beliefs of personal freedom. The city itself is walled in, due to the hostile alien life present on the planet. In particular, the walls defend the population against the predatory Ashta, described as a "cross between a wolf and a velociraptor". [1]
The Core contains the upper echelon of Akila City society, consisting of manors owned by upper class people, memorials, and it also features The Rock which is the city's main governmental building and is where the Marshall and Freestar Rangers reside. Midtown represents the largest district of Akila City, consisting of most of the stores and the spaceport. The Stretch is the poorest part of Akila City.
