Companion Affinity[edit]

There are multiple affinity events that can happen during this mission.

Affinity Stage Andreja Barrett Sam Coe Sarah Morgan

The player chose to let Ron Hope off the hook for the sake of his employees, who'd be out of work with the probably collapse of HopeTech if the player had chosen to expose Hope's scheme against the farmers of the Freestar Collective. This demonstrates that the player is so compassionate toward the workers that they're willing to place their fates above justice, letting Hope off the hook so his workers and their families won't suffer. It also shows great principles, since the player turned down a bribe to keep Hope's secret, but kept the secret anyway out of concern for the employees.[affinity 1]

Confronting the villainous Ron Hope at the culmination of the quest line, the player turns down a large bribe that Hope offers in exchange for the player's silence. Instead the player says Hope is going to face justice. This is a big moment at the end of the quest line.[affinity 2]

The player just accepted a bribe from Ron Hope, agreeing to help cover up Hope's crime of stealing farm land for use in his plot to cut costs. This occurs at the culmination of the quest line and is a big moment. The player is letting the main antagonist off the hook here.[affinity 3]

My investigation into the activities of the mercenary group called the First has led me to HopeTech founder Ron Hope. The First's leader, Major Paxton Hull, had evidence that Hope hired the First to seize farmland. Now it's time to learn Hope's plans and bring him to justice.

Notes
  • Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the Radiant Mission system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all entries may appear in your log; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the mission is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with missions that have multiple possible outcomes or missions where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Mission" it means the mission disappears from the Active Mission list, but you may still receive new entries for that mission.
  • On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the mission by entering setstage FC09 stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) mission stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the mission using resetquest FC09.
