Starfield:One Giant Leap
|
Official Summary[edit]
"The PLAYER completes the Armillary and can now enter the Unity. They can speak to their companions and other members of Constellation before they go. When they arrive at the Unity, the player meets a version of themself who explains the Unity's rules: you can enter it completely and be reborn in the multiverse as a Starborn, or you can leave and return to your universe."
Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Assemble the completed Armillary onboard your ship, then grav jump anywhere.
- Enter the Unity, or return to your universe.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Saying Goodbye[edit]
After completing Revelation, you will have the full set of artifacts. At this point, you may speak to the various members of Constellation and discuss what comes next. Sarah, Barrett, Sam, and Andreja all plan on passing through the Unity and become Starborn, with Cora going with her father. Vlad, Matteo, Walter, and Noel all plan to remain behind, with Vlad becoming the new Chair of Constellation. VASCO also remains behind, noting the apparent absence of robotic Starborn.
The Final Jump[edit]
Once you are ready, assemble the complete Armillary aboard your ship, and power up your Grav Drive. You will immediately jump to the Unity.
You will appear in a field of stars, facing a roiling sun and a duplicate of your character wearing a Constellation Spacesuit. The duplicate explains the options available to you. First, you can enter the Unity. This will cause a part of your identity to disperse across the universe, affecting it in different ways based on your actions. Meanwhile, the remainder of your identity will be reborn in a new universe as a Starborn. Alternatively, you can walk away from the Unity, and return to your own universe, awakening aboard your ship.
Consequences[edit]
This page or section is incomplete. You can help by adding to it. For more information, see the help files, the style guide, and this article's talk page. |
To assist you in making your choice, your duplicate will present you with visions of the consequences of your actions throughout the game, and how your journey through the Unity will affect the universe you leave behind:
- If you sided with the Emissary, they take stewardship of the Unity, deciding who can and cannot pass through. Your actions have a profound effect on them, and they actively seek out people who they believe might be worthy and attempt to guide them towards it.
- If you opposed both the Hunter and the Emissary, the Unity will be left open to the people of the Settled Systems, to decide for themselves what to do with it.
- If you completed The Hammer Falls by killing Ron Hope, the Freestar Rangers gain a reputation for pursuing justice over political convenience. The Unity will inspire the people of the Freestar Collective to become more compassionate and self-satisfying.
Other
- The remaining members of Constellation eventually publish their knowledge of the Artifacts, the Unity, and the Starborn. The Unity inspires people to explore the stars.
- If you committed to a romance, your spouse will eventually pass through the Unity as well. The Unity will lead more people to fall in love.
Coming Full Circle[edit]
If you wish to remain in your current universe, you can walk away. The star field will slowly fade away, and you will reawaken back on your ship. You will still have the complete set of artifacts and can return to the Unity at any time.
If you choose to enter the Unity, you will trigger a cutscene that slowly zooms out to depict the entire universe, followed by the credits. After this, you will awaken on a Starborn Guardian in orbit over Narion, with only a Starborn spacesuit and the original Artifact in your possession, and One Small Step will begin again.

- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Mission system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all entries may appear in your log; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the mission is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with missions that have multiple possible outcomes or missions where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Mission" it means the mission disappears from the Active Mission list, but you may still receive new entries for that mission.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the mission by entering
setstage MQ305 stage
, wherestage
is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) mission stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the mission usingresetquest MQ305
.
