Derelict Croatoan is a derelict ship where an asteroid field led to the crew's death.
Captain Stefanie plotted a jump to the Sol System, but because of an issue with the Grav Drive, it jumped them into the middle of an asteroid field, which caused the ship to take heavy damage.[1]
The crew had found that the asteroid collision had caused a stress fracture to multiple exhaust pipes, which led to the air being filled with ammonia and hydrogen chloride. Some of the tools needed to do repairs were also damaged, so they decided to seal off the toxic areas and signal for help.[2]
After days of no contact with other ships, corrosive liquid started flooding the ship along with the gas leaks. As no repair job could fix the ship, they decided to seal themselves in the crew quarters in hopes someone would dock with the ship.[3]
As the crew waited, Captain Stefanie asked the crew to say some words to help distract them from the situation, but Aleksy Szczerbiak used the moment to give Captain Stefanie a eulogy, which started a trend in which they all spoke on another's behalf.[4]
