Peter Brennan, full body

Peter Brennan is a resident of Cydonia and the current manager of Deimos Mining, a position he was assigned based on nepotism. Brennan is self-centered, lazy, tech illiterate, and seemingly oblivious to what is going on around him. He delegates most of his work to a series of assistants, all of whom have eventually quit.

Although he does not contribute to the workplace ever, he also never leaves it. He can be found wandering about the office.

Peter wears a Fashionable Suit. He keep an Eon with ammo for protection. He can carry various aid items.

Brennan will end conversations by saying:

"Have a good one."
"Yeah."
"Oh? You're done?"

If you stop speaking mid-conversation, he will say:

"Yeah... uh huh... I'm listening."
"Could you hurry it up?"
"I don't have all day."

Peter has numerous greetings. His default ones include:

"Sometimes I feel like these mines just run themselves. I like to think that's thanks to me."
"Do you work for me? It's hard to keep track these days."
"Mining must be a fun job, or else why would we keep getting so many applicants?"
"It's amazing how smoothly our mining operations run with me in charge. I can't recall the last time we've had any major issues."
"I'm a bit busy at the moment. Lots of... business operations to operate, and all that."

If you completed Space Frog from Outer Space, he will complain about the new decorations:

"Someone ought to remove those dreadful little cartoon pictures on the walls around town. They clash with the... er... metal wall aesthetic."

If you are wearing the Monster Costume, he has a unique greeting:

"Hey, uh... I've got to ask. You're not really an alien, are you?"

During the events of Red Tape Runaround, he will forget if he asked you to do anything:

"Did you do that thing I asked you to do yet? Wait, maybe I didn't ask you yet. Hm."
"Right then, assistant. Let's see... I know there's something I need you to do for me."

After completing Red Tape Runaround, he will express confusion over you:

"Odd. I thought you were assisting me, but we must have let you go for some reason. Ah well."
"Say, you look familiar, but I can't place it. Must have seen you in passing or something."

Mission-Related Events[edit]

During Red Tape Runaround, you will temporarily be hired as the assistant to Peter Brennan, and will get a firsthand look at how incapable he is. This starts with him not realizing you are a new assistant:

"Ah, you're finally back! I feel like you've been gone for ages. Do you know how tough this job is without an assistant?"

If you back out of this conversation, he will say:

"I'd appreciate if you didn't uh... just walk away while we're discussing work."

His opening dialogue line will change when you start this conversation again:

"If you wish to remain as my assistant, I'll need to focus. Now, are you ready for your first task?"
I'm here now, and ready to work.
"Good. Now let's... you look a bit different than I remember. Did you go to 'Enhance!'? No... now I remember, they told me they sent me someone new. Anyway..."
Uhh...

Ah yes, sorry for the confusion. I thought you were my previous assistant. Forgot about the new one, you. Anyhow..."

I think you're mistaking me for your previous assistant.

His specific response to this will vary depending on how you filled out the application:

"Oh? What happened to the old one? You know what, nevermind. They wouldn't say how you did on your application, but they did say no one else was available. Let's hope for the best, shall we?"
"Oh? What happened to the old one? You know what, nevermind. When they told me how poorly you did on your application questions, I had my doubts, but at least you showed up on time, so maybe there's hope."
"Oh? What happened to the old one? You know what, nevermind. They told me you were a strong candidate for this job, so I'm looking forward to seeing how well you do."
"Oh? What happened to the old one? You know what, nevermind. From what I hear, you aced the application exam, so I'll be expecting big things from you."

Regardless of your initial response, he will then say:

"Well enough chit-chat, let's get to work."
Just tell me what I can do for you, sir, and consider it done. (Industrialist only)
"Excellent, some initiative! I love it! That's something my previous assistant lacked. A shipment I ordered has yet to arrive, and I don't know why. Last time this happened, my assistant needed to speak to Governor Hurst. I don't know what he has to do with it, but go figure it out and get my shipment for me."
Sure, just point me at your computer and I'll get to your messages.
"Not quite! I need you to do something much more important before you get to that. I'm expecting a personal shipment. I'm not sure why, but the last time this happened, my assistant ended up speaking to Governor Hurst about it. Now, run off and get it for me."
Fine, whatever. Tell me what to do and I'll do it.
"Not uh... very enthusiastic. Noted. Well, I need something done and I don't want to go looking for someone to fire you just yet. So, I have a shipment I'm waiting for. Don't know where it is. Last time this happened, my assistant went to speak to the governor. I'm sure he'll help you get it sorted out. Now, kindly, off with you."

You can choose to delay continuing by choosing this option instead:

Actually sir, it's break time. I'll be right back.
"Oh? It is, is it? Well then, don't want to be running afoul of HR, do we?"
"Thanks for the reminder, new assistant! I'll see you in a bit after I take a little R&R."
What's in the shipment?
""What's in the shipment." A good assistant knows it's not their place to ask. Bad assistants get fired. Mediocre assistants get... You know what, I forget where I was going with this, but it doesn't matter. Just get it for me, will you? Also... I don't quite remember. But it is important, that I know!"

After getting involved with a government coverup to just pick up a simple package, Peter will be confused what took you so long when you get back:

"My shipment. Do you have it yet?"
Do you have any idea how hard it was to get this?
"No, was it difficult? I guess I never thought about it since you... I mean, my previous assistants just showed up with it whenever I asked."
Yes, here you go.
"Ah yes! I'll take that. Now, I've probably got some important messages I need you to take care of for me while I... ahem, attend to some other important matters at hand. You'll need my password. Remember, if you reply to anything, try to mimic my style and speech patterns. You know, for consistency."
Yeah, yeah, I've got it. This better be worth the trouble.
"Oh, I'm sure it is. Anyway. Can you get to my messages? They're always such a pain to manage, but with you answering them for me, it'll be easy. Oh, use my password, and try to make my replies sound like me, you know, so people think it's me, even though it's not."
Yeah, but I had to do some real shady stuff for Hurst to get it. Also, you owe taxes.
"Oh, that's nice. Thanks for getting this for me. Now, could you be a pal and get to my computer messages? They've been piling up while you were gone, and I need you to respond to them for me. Here's my password. Just make sure your replies sound like they're coming from me. I have a reputation to maintain."

If you just walkaway without answering, he will say:

"Well, you got me all excited. I hope you won't take too much longer. Come back when you've got my package."
