Gauri Limsong is a miner who works at Cydonia for Deimos Staryards Inc.

From 8PM to 5AM she can be found in the Deimos Miner Quarters. For the rest of the day she can be found working in the mine.

She wears Teal Elbow Grease Gear. She also has a Deimos Spacesuit, Deimos Space Helmet, and a Deimos Tunnel for hostile conditions. She keeps a Cutter for mining on her, and a Rescue Axe for self defense. Gauri has a standard amount of Credits, and can carry Aid Items.

Her greetings include:

"I know it doesn't seem like it, but Cydonia's actually very pleasant once you get used to it!"

"People always ask me, "Gauri? Why did you take this job on Mars?" Well, the pay's great, the people are good, and I get to work with explosives!"

"If you need some rock blasted, I'm your girl."

"You hear that coughing? That's Rivkah. I tried to convince her to see a doctor, but she refuses. Wonder why?"

"There's something very satisfying about blasting apart pieces of Mars."

"They told me this job would be tough. I don't see what the big deal is."

"Wow, I heard a rumor that Rivkah got in trouble with the law. Rivkah of all people... She was so quiet!"

If you stop speaking mid-conversation, she will say:

"We're doing this, right?"

"Need more time?"

"Are you done?"

Gauri will end conversations by saying:

"Got somewhere else to be? I get it."

"See you around."

"Hey, stay safe."

You can converse with Gauri, who will provide some information about mining on Mars.

What do you know about this Heart of Mars thing I'm hearing about?

"Oh that? It's a legendary chunk of titanium ore that any miner would love to get their hands on. I can only assume Laylah told you about it. She's obsessed, but she's too scared to go after it herself. Because of the curse. But you do you. Don't let her scare you off."

What do you do here?

"Oh, I'm the blasting supervisor. I help take care of tricky deposits and expanding sections of the mine using controlled detonations. It's much faster than normal mining, but also more dangerous."

Is there still a lot of blasting going on here?

"Not as much as there used to be, but Mars is still ripe with minerals for the taking. Did you know they used controlled particle detonations in the deep mines? Crazy, huh? Must have been pretty awesome to set all that up. I just use regular old explosive charges in my detonations, but I take what I can get, huh?"

There's still a lot of mining to be done here in Cydonia, huh?

"Sure is. Mars is rich with mineral deposits, even this close to the city. Although, we're also clearing out this space here to make way for possible future city improvements. Not sure what's going to go here when we're done, how long it's going to take, or even if it'll ever happen, but it'd be nice to see the city grow."

Blasting seems like it could be challenging in this environment. Is it?

"That's why it takes someone with my qualifications and supervision to do it right, or else terrible things can happen. About a year ago, some rookie kid though he could increase his yields, so he strung up a bunch of charges and almost brought down a whole cave. We tightened up safety protocols since then, and haven't had any accidents since. Well, at least none related to explosions. Uh... not MY team's explosions, that is."

Conversations

Gauri can visit Noam to have a conversation:

Gauri: "Hey Noam, what's up?"

Noam: "Hello... Gauri Limsong. I have something to report to you."

Gauri: "You do? What is it?"

Noam: "Laylah wanted me to tell you that she borrowed some of your explosives."

Gauri: "She WHAT?! She knows she's not certified to use those without supervision! What could she possibly need explosives for?"

Noam: "I do not know. It was unclear if she was being truthful, or if this was another fib, like the last time."

Gauri: "I bet she's messing with me again. But just in case, I'm going to have to have a word with her... Thanks Noam."
