Jarek Va'ruun was the son of Jinan Va'ruun who took leadership of House Va'ruun after Jinan's death in 2263. Jarek Va'ruun believed in diplomacy and so created an embassy in New Atlantis as part of his intention for a peaceful, democratic future and to ensure the survival of his house.

biography[edit]

Succeeding Jinan[edit]

In 2263, after the death of Jinan Va'ruun during the Serpent's Crusade. His son, Jarek Va'ruun, succeeded and took leadership of House Va'ruun. During his leadership he sued for peace, thus bringing an end to the Serpent's Crusade. Jarek believed that as a result of the Crusade, diplomacy was the only way for House Va'ruun to survive. In this endeavor Jarek ordered the creation of an embassy in New Atlantis.

Not everyone agreed with the change in leadership, In 2270, Jarek's twin brother, Jandar, publicly challenged him, expressing opposition to House Va'ruun's policy of isolation. This discord led to heightened tensions between House Va'ruun and House Ma'leen.

By 2274, House Ma'leen formally severed ties with House Va'ruun, giving rise to the Va'ruun Zealots, who continued to instill fear across the Settled Systems.

By 2298, Jarek Va'ruun passed away, and his son, Anasko Va'ruun, assumed the role of Speaker for the Great Serpent.
