The Great Serpent is so much more than a god. It is fate itself. When our Founder, Jinan Va'ruun, Left the United Colonies a hundred and forty years ago for distant stars, it was the Serpent that compelled him to found his now great House. The Serpent made us who we are today. Its voice speaks to us, Shepherding us through the darkness, and infuses our lives with the meaning the universe so often fails to provide.Ambassador Qasrik Bal'mor

The Great Serpent

The Great Serpent is a supposed celestial being that Jinan Va'ruun communed with while he was aboard a colony ship that departed from New Atlantis in 2190. Jinan communed with this being in one of many Grav jumps and vowed to revere this being, founding a House Va'ruun to join him in this reverence.

Faith[edit]

Believers in the Great Serpent refer to themselves as the Promised, they anticipate the Great Serpent to eventually consume the universe, sparing the Promised and keeping them by its side.

House Va'ruun is an isolationist theocracy that worships the Great Serpent

They see the Great Serpent as fate itself. They claim that its voice speaks to them, shepherding them through the darkness and infusing their lives with the meaning the universe often fails to provide. It is the right of its followers to honor its will in whatever way they see fit.
