Anasko Va'ruun was Speaker for the Great Serpent of House Va'ruun from 2298 until at least 2330. He was the son of Jarek Va'ruun and grandson of Jinan Va'ruun. Anasko resided in the Scaled Citadel, located in the hidden city of Dazra, on the planet Va'ruun'kai.
Biography[edit]
Anasko inherited leadership of House Va'ruun upon the death of his father Jarek in 2298. In 2302, he initiated a secret research program centered around grav drive technology that involved unorthodox methods and applications.
At some point before 2330, Anasko personally selected various works created by Va'ruun artisans to be exhibited in the House Va'ruun Embassy in New Atlantis, in the sincere hope that through the shared appreciation of art, the major governments of the Settled Systems may better relate in the portentous times.
In 2330, a grav drive experiment in Dazra went wrong and created an anomaly called the Vortex. Much of Dazra was destroyed, and Anasko Va'ruun was trapped within the Scaled Citadel, which was isolated in the epicenter of the disaster. In the weeks that followed, House Va'ruun's noble houses began asserting themselves and jockeying for power in Anasko's absence.
