Kibwe Ikande is the captain of the UC Vigilance and the commander of UC SysDef. He is a bald man of African descent who wears a SysDef Officer Uniform.
Background[edit]
Ikande was the son of a merchant captain. He learned to fly at the age of sixteen, piloting an old Deimos fighter his father had salvaged. When he turned seventeen, he began flying escort for his father's freighter. Seven months later, they were attacked by Crimson Fleet pirates. Ikande escaped with his life, but his father was killed. He has harbored an intense grudge against the Crimson Fleet ever since.
Personality[edit]
Ikande's polite, soft-spoken persona masks a passionate hatred of the Crimson Fleet, which he has devoted his life to destroying. Much of the Navy consider him an overzealous crusader, and the Cabinet sees the Crimson Fleet as a relatively minor issue, which Ikande finds frustrating. While willing to resort to underhanded attacks in order to combat the Fleet, Ikande still holds to a strict code of ethics, and does everything he can to avoid collateral damage or unnecessary civilian casualties.
