The Deserted UC Listening Post is an exterior point of interest that can be identified from orbit on many planets.
It is a sprawling underground complex built into a hill, taken over by Crimson Fleet pirates. The exterior consists of a hab module placed in a cleft in the hillside, with a path leading up to it. There is a mine on the path, and a sniper on top of the module looking out for trespassers.
Inside, stairs and a corridor lead to a security checkpoint. A stealthy approach is difficult, because there are two pirates in the security room who have a clear view of the entrance corridor. Beyond the checkpoint is a large two-floor storage room, with a cafeteria and living quarters off to the right. In the far corner of the storage area is the entrance to a computer room. Beyond that is another series of corridors that lead to an office area.

- A variation of this point of interest occurs in the mission Ghost Hunt. In this version, the pirates are replaced with turrets and robots.
