Xenowarfare is the practice of capturing, studying, and domesticating alien wildlife for military purpose. Successfully weaponized aliens are known as "xenoweapons".

History[edit]

If one includes the native lifeforms of Earth, xenowarfare is as old as war itself, but modern xenowarfare begins with the invention of the Neural Control Interface. The United Colonies military, led by Admiral Francois Sanon, chose to invest heavily in NCI research, establishing an official Xeno Weapons Division and the notorious Red Devils. Initial research took place within UC space, but was eventually moved to a secret outpost in the Narion System after successful results with the Kreet Stalker.

During the Colony War, Xenoweapoms were deployed to the front lines in significant numbers. The Red Devils played a critical role in destroying the Freestar Collective settlement on Vesta that provoked the war, and were deployed to the fiercest battlefields of the war, in particular the Battle of Niira.

After the end of the war, the Freestar Collective demanded that xenowarfare be banned. This was accepted as a key term of the Armistice. The Red Devils were dissolved, and all existing Xenowarfare research was sealed within the Armistice Archives.

Notable Failures[edit]

  • During the Colony War, the UC experimented with weaponizing Terrormorphs, but the project was an unmitigated disaster. Even after being fitted with an NCI, the Terrormorph specimen escaped, destroyed the Kreet Research Lab, and killed the scientists overseeing the project.
