New Game Quest Wording[edit]

It's been noted by players that some New Game universes have different wording for the "One Small Step" quest when you emerge from the Unity. In most of the universes the quest wording is "Go to the Lodge (MAST District)", while some (but not all) of the alternate universes have the wording "Go to the Lodge" with no mention of MAST District. I think in the interest of full documentation it's worthwhile to specify which ones have the altered (shortened) wording. I'll start:

  • Walter takes over Constellation - shortened

Feel free to add to this. I'll try to remember to do so as well. Xyzzy (talk) 20:40, 19 March 2024 (EDT)

The Hunter - shortened Xyzzy (talk) 21:09, 19 March 2024 (EDT)
You meet yourself at the Lodge and can recruit yourself as crew - longer quest description Xyzzy (talk) 22:50, 19 March 2024 (EDT)

Selecting Alternate Universe on PC[edit]

I'm not sure if it's appropriate to include cheats in articles so I'm putting this on the talk page.

To select a specific alternate universe on PC

1) Enter Unity and then proceed to enter the big glowing orb to enter a new universe

2) Wait until the credits start rolling and the option to hold the ALT button to skip appears

3) Open the Console (default key is 'E') and type the following commands

  set 17E727 to 100
set 1801B9 to X, where X equals the version you wish to select:
0 = Everyone except Vasco is dead
1 = You meet this universe's version of you at the Lodge and can recruit yourself
2 = Multiple versions of you are hanging out at the Lodge
3 = Hostile Andreja and Va'ruun Zealots ambush you at the Lodge
4 = Walter has bought out Constellation
5 = The Hunter waits for you at the Lodge
6 = Cora Coe seeks vengeance
7 = Evil version of you ambushes you at the Lodge
8 = Children pretending to be Constellation
   9 = Sarah is a potted plant

4) Close the console and skip the dialogue to enter the new universe

I tested it once and it worked for me. Xyzzy (talk) 23:13, 19 March 2024 (EDT)

It's fine to add to add if it's of particular noteworthiness to readers, which this would be. Feel free to add it! --AKB (talk) 23:53, 19 March 2024 (EDT)
