Starfield talk:Fauna

Hi everyone, first time wiki contributor here so apologies if this is the wrong place for asking questions like this. I was just adding some information about the Hunting Nightmare fauna, and I noticed that the information box has spaces for level and health. I was just wondering what information is intended to go in these, as the level (and therefore health) varies from creature to creature within a species.

Should we put level ranges and health ranges in the space? It seems like it would be difficult to prove the real minimum or maximum values for these, unless those values can be found in the Creation Kit. Just checking what the intention is for these going forward.

Thanks,
Nick

Naming Conventions[edit]

The game seems to use terms like, 'apex', 'grazing', or 'flocking' as behavioral modifiers to creatures. Occasionally, they also may swap out textures between these varieties. Given this, does it really make sense to create a separate page for each individual iteration the game has? Wouldn't it be easier to create a page for each base creature, then list the existing variations? ~ LinusPierceSFWiki

^ REPLY: My 2-cents worth. I'd say both are needed. The 'Known Fauna' section does seem to be a little messy. It might be better to focus on the individual pages until we have an exhaustive list, and then we can compile information into the 'base creature' pages. I was reviewing some of those pages, e.g., the Centiskull Grazer page. I didn't find the layout to be user friendly. The tables are different sizes and shapes, and it made it difficult to track specific information across the page. But having a base creature page would be helpful for folks looking for something specific without having to hunt through individual pages first. So my suggestion is to wipe out the listing below the statement "An unfiltered list of all fauna...." Or, we could write "well known," and focus on a shorter listing, such as the ashta and the terrormorph, etc. And finally, the 'base creature' should exclude the secondary modifier, so that all centiskulls are listed in the base page and not just grazers. ~ Calx

^^ REPLY: I cleaned up the page for Herding Rocckhound Grazer, using the dash as a padder, and spacing out the infobox texts to make the two boxes even. Compare it to the infoboxes in Centiskull Grazer and let me know if that's tolerable. It just bugs me to look at the infoboxes being different shapes and sizes, and the rockhound page is more pleasing to the eye. ~ Calx
