StarfieldWiki:Messages
This page provides various standard messages that can be added to user talk pages.
Add the IP address or user name to the appropriate message, and click the button. The message will be inserted onto the talk page, and you will then have a chance to modify the message before saving the talk page. The messages should generally be customized before saving. Some customizations to consider include:
- Replace "this IP address" with "this account" if appropriate
- Add links to specific examples
Welcome[edit]
This is a basic message to welcome new editors to the site. Personalizing the welcome message is highly recommended whenever possible. If you use the template below, the user's name will automatically be added to the message. The main intent behind the standardized message is to make it easier to include useful links in the message.
The welcome message should not be used until an editor has made his or her first edit, since many users register accounts and never make an edit, and some accounts could be spam bots. Please do not use the welcome message for anonymous users (users who edit under an IP address rather than an account name). Many anonymous users edit from a public computer or may have a different IP address the next time they log in, which means they will never see the message.
