Aisha Hunter - Personal Logs
Clarence I'm not sure what Clarence is playing at. He's always been a little wormy, but blatantly taking credit for my discoveries? That's vile even for him. Just goes to show how high the stakes are.

I've been debating how to handle it. I don't want to go to Dr. Showalter, not yet. Seems like a conversation with Clarence is in order, but I'm not sure how receptive he'll be.

Recent Experiments Decided to go back to our existing retail fleet and play around with some existing components. We're "all Grav Drive all the time" these days, but a Graviton Loop array isn't going to help a ship fight off marauders, or make a hard turn when you're approaching a starstation docking port too fast.

Our Nimitz class may get all the attention (big+guns = fun yeah yeah I get it) but for me, there's always been something about the Discovery class. Its function may officially be exploration, but one look, and you know what I see? Adventure.

I've been making some modifications to the Engines. In my spare time, for fun. My gut's just telling me the Discovery class could be JUST a little bit zippier...

Grav Drive Size The Graviton Loop Array is too big.

That's stating the obvious. You just need to look at the prototype ship to see how impractically large it is. We all know it. Problem is, it's not too big - not to get the ship from the Moon to Jupiter.

But what about after that? One and done? That's it? Of course not.

Throughout the history of technological advancement, there has been a reliable constant - miniaturization. As engineering gets better, technology gets smaller. Microchips, cars, televisions, etc. etc. etc.

So it stands to reason we'll get our Grav Drives smaller. I'd just like them to get smaller faster.

We're changing the nature of humanity. The stars are within reach... and people are going to want to reach them. So the sooner we can fit our ships with grav drives, the better off Nova Galactic will be. And, let's be honest - the better off the human race will be.

We don't know what's out there. But we've got to help people find out.

Clarence - Part 2 Spoke to Clarence. It went surprisingly well. He said it wasn't his intention at all to take credit for my work, and that he was simply reporting on the team's progress. The more we talked, the more he admitted he hadn't really seen things from my perspective. I smiled, nodded, and listened... and assumed it was all bullshit.

I was pleasantly surprised two days later during our meeting with Dr. Showalter. Clarence gave me credit for spearheading the team's discoveries, and after that, Dr. Showalter directed most of his questions to me.

That was two weeks ago. Since then, Clarence and I have worked pretty closely together. We've talked a lot, and even had a couple of arguments, but throoughout it all the mutual respect has remained.

Never expected to make a friend up here, but Clarence is good people. I talked to Julia, and she agrees - time to add him to the wedding guest list.
